Recover >95% of Your Filter backwash water with Cembrane
To maintain design capacity of Sand filters, they need to be backwashed periodically with treated water.
Globally, upwards of 10% of all treated water is used for backwashing.
This water contains high amounts of suspended solids, bacteria, parasites & heavy metals and is typically sent wholly or partly to the raw water intake of the plant. This creates risk of upsetting treatment process and affecting the final water quality.
Although filter backwash wastewater contains suspended solids in the hundreds of mg/l and turbidities exceeding 1000 NTU, our #SiliconCarbidemembrane can directly treat and reuse the wastewater for portable reuse.
Key highlights for recovery of Sand filter backwash water using Cembrane:
• No pre-treatment
• Treated water suitable for potable reuse
• >95% recovery rate
• Energy consumption of 20-40 watts pr. m3
• Compact design built into existing concrete structure or in skid- or containerized unit
